Chassis is Complete! On to the Drivetrain.

The first major milestone is complete.  The next step is rebuilding the original Flathead V8 and three speed transmission.  First we will tackle the engine.  It hasn't been started in over 30 years, but is in amazing shape.  The engine turns over and has compression in every cylinder, although some are very low.  The plan is to take it down to bare block and take it to a machine shop for them to do a magnaflux test, bore the cylinders, reface the valve seats, check the crankshaft, and press in new cam bearings.  Here is a picture of the motor when I took it out last year.  The first step is taking all of the wiring and oil lines off.   7/7/2012.
